The most amazing thing happened when we left Amsterdam. The bus company student agency, use them, had movies and leather seats and free coffee and tea and a stewardess. So fancy and all for fifteen euro. It was heaven compared to the usual cramped conditions we were used to. It even had a toilet on board.
Cologne was pretty. Churches, and sightseeing, and whatnot. A museum of design that just seemed like someone had moved peoples furniture in. Hilarious to us, but also very confusing. There is also this massive shopping street that sucked us in and spat us out a little poorer. Worth it. Never understood retail therapy until then. New stuff is awesome and of course I got the obligatory baggy traveller hippie pants. Had to be done and may be the most comfortable thing I've ever worn.
We did not party in cologne instead we planned the rest of our trip, booked hostels and transport, did all that boring stuff. The hostel had great music, cheap beer but not a whole lot of people. It was nice except for the constant unlocked room and fear of murderers.
I do recommend the retail therapy though.
It was a museum of furniture...rooms and rooms of it. This is technically the coat room.
